Silver

Silver hated lying to Warren. Hated every goddamn minute of it. But now wasn’t the time to tell him. No. She’d had four orgasms in the last hour and hoped for a least one more before she left. Plus, after the sleuthing she’d done these past few months, she’d been seeing him again soon. Sooner than soon. Like tomorrow soon.

No, she needed tonight. They needed tonight. Just one night of passion, of pleasure, where they could be the people they were one year ago without any stress. Any secrets. Because as soon as he found out her secret, shit was going to hit the fan. Warren would probably hate her forever, and any chance they had at repeating tonight would be gone forever.

One night. That’s all she wanted. Just one night to be the old Silver. She hadn’t been reckless for long. Just those three days with Warren, but for the past year she’d missed that side of herself, and for one night, she wanted that part back.

“What ya thinkin’ about?” Warren asked with a yawn, wandering back into the bedroom, a tray of room service from the bar in his arms. “That’s a pretty pensive look for someone who was just fucked to within an inch of her sanity. I’m pretty sure you were cursing in another language during that last orgasm.”

She grinned, watching him slide his sexy frame onto the bed. “Your skills will do that. I’m not sure what language it was, but I don’t think it was English.”

Unlike Silver, who’d changed a whole hell of a lot over the past year, Warren was still as dead sexy as always. Dark hair with that ever-popular long swooshy thing on top, unfathomably deep blue eyes that held a mischievous twinkle to them, even when he was being serious. He’d been the star of her dreams for a year. Even her daydreams were often full of him. And now here he was again, making her feel things she didn’t think she’d ever get to feel again.

She’d wondered over the months following their tryst if she’d manufactured her feelings for him, a sort of Romeo and Juliet syndrome, if you will. Only their time together had been a bit more than words and stolen glances across a crowded room. Even still, it hadn’t been a long time. Only three nights and two and a half days. But in that time, he’d changed her. Helped her. Healed her. When they weren’t having sex, they were talking and laughing, watching movies or swimming in the rooftop pool. Warren had given her the honeymoon she had deserved. Instead of two glorious weeks in the Greek Isles, it was three nights in a swanky hotel room. But those three nights had given her more than she ever could’ve dreamed. They gave her new hope for a better future, a better Silver. And she’d like to think that she was a better person because of Warren. She put herself first a bit more and didn’t allow others to walk all over her as much as she had in the past.
